About Me

As we move through life, we are often faced with many challenges and sometimes even moments that turn our lives upside down.  Struggles with making sense of traumatic events and distressing experiences often leave us feeling lost, defeated and uncertain about our identity and capabilities to weather the storm.  Everyone deals with these situations in their own way.  At times, we are able to manage and cope rather well however, some challenges and tragedies can start to feel overwhelming and hard to cope with on our own.

I know what it is like to be caught in turbulent times when you feel like you have run out of solutions and the end seems far out of reach. That is why I put my heart and soul into helping individuals make sense of these moments, put their life back together and find contentment and purpose.

I am a registered Clinical Psychologist in private practice in Bloemfontein. I provide individualized psychotherapeutic services to adolescents (14 yrs +), adults and couples.  I use a person-centered, trauma-informed approach to therapy, which also integrates a wide range of modalities, including but not limited to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), mindfulness, and attachment theory.

Experience and Training

I qualified as a clinical psychologist through the University of the Free State after completing my internship at the Free State Psychiatric Complex in Bloemfontein in 2016.  However, my journey towards becoming a psychologist did not end there.  I consider myself a student for life as well as a student of life.

I have attended various courses since my qualification including, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) for the treatment of trauma-related concerns.  International training include, EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy) through EFTEC Canada, and CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) for Depression and Anxiety through the Beck Institute.
